Mary Magdalene Myers was a daughter of Jacob and Catharine Myers. She was born in Davidson county, North Carolina, Sept. 15, 1823. When about six years old, her parents migrated to this state, and settled a mile south of Lutheran Church, where the county was still a wilderness. In this immediate vicinity the remainder of her long and useful life was spent. She died February 19, 1912, having attained the age of eighty-eight years, five months and four days when she was called to her reward. She was baptized in infancy and was reared in the Lutheran Church in which she has been a faithful and devoted Christian all her life. She was married to David Fine November 17, 1842. To this union, seven children were born, five boys and two girls. Of these children, three of the boys died in infancy and one, Noah, in 1875, at the age of twenty four years. David Fine, her husband, died July 18, 1898. Since then she made her home with her son, Jacob E. Fine, who together with two daughters, Mrs. Susan Wert and Mrs. Rachel Roberts. Survive her. Besides these she leaves to mourn for her an aged brother, Jacob Harrison Myers, ten grand-children, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. All of them will miss her smile and kind words keenly.
